So you’ve had a sleep study and would like to use a CPAP machine to treat your Sleep Apnea. We recommend trialling CPAP therapy first.

What do I need to consider when purchasing a CPAP machine?

Your trial of CPAP will help determine whether you need a fixed pressure machine or an automatic CPAP device. It will also help ascertain which pressures and comfort settings need to be used to best suit your therapy needs. During the trial you will also have the opportunity to try different mask types. It is not unusual for people to choose more than one mask for ongoing use.

Other factors to consider when purchasing a CPAP machine are:

  • Your lifestyle (Do you travel a lot and therefore need a lightweight, portable device?)
  • Noise level of machine
  • Ongoing maintenance of the machine
  • Do you require battery power or back up power?

Which Machine Should I choose?

To help you determine what CPAP machine is best for you, we have listed the general specifications of a few of the most popular CPAP machines on the market today.
