How does the new ResMed AirFit N30i compare to the ResMed AirFit P10 and Phillips Dreamwear masks?

The new ResMed N30i is a hybrid between a nasal and nasal pillow mask – similar to the Philips Dreamwear. This CPAP mask is a CPAP users dream with its condensed, lightweight features.

The ResMed N30i  mask does have a few distinguishing features to set it apart from the other CPAP nasal masks on the market.

First and foremost, the mask is designed so that the soft silicon cushion curves around the nose, sitting just below the nostrils allowing the pressure to be released upward through the airways as opposed to more direct, ‘traditional’ nasal pillow masks which tend to sit into the nostrils, such as the ResMed AirFit P10.

Another notable difference is that the ResMed N30i’s frame travels up from the cheekbones, toward the top of the head and connects to the tubing from there. This means that your tubing will sit up and away from your face. This may be effective in reducing tangles in your tubing throughout the night and may save you from laying on top of it.

The good news as well is that the Headgear has improved and looks to be a lot more durable than the ResMed AirFit P10 headgear.

The overall design is similar in looks to the Philips DreamWear Nasal Mask, however, the ResMed N30i mask features a ‘Pinhole Vent’ system, this system works to disperse the air upon exhalation in a way that reduces the amount of disturbance to yourself and your bed partner.

The ResMed AirFit N30i comes in both Small and Standard sizes.

Unlike the ResMed AirFit P10 mask, the N30i will not be compatible for use with the ResMed AirMini device.

Overall the ResMed N30i mask is a comfortable, effective CPAP mask with a refreshing new design. This mask will appeal to CPAP users who have used both Nasal and Nasal pillow masks and offers a nice alternative to the Philips Dreamwear mask.
