Will the AirMini treat my sleep apnoea effectively?
The ResMed AirMini will treat sleep apnoea and snoring effectively. It is capable to be used in AutoSet, AutoSet For Her and Elite (Fixed Pressure) mode. The Algorithm in the AutoSet and AutoSet For Her machines is the same as that in ResMed AirSense 10 devices.
What masks can be used in ResMed AirMini?
The ResMed AirMini is compatible only with a few of the ResMed AirFit masks. The ResMed AirFit P10, N20 F20 and also the AirTouch F20 mask.
Of note, only the P10 and N20 masks can be used with the HumidX and HumidX Plus humidifier tabs. The tabs for the Full Face masks are in the process of being created.
Can the ResMed AirMini be run off a 12V converter or battery?
The ResMed AirMini can be powered using a 12 Volt power source by connecting to this with the ResMed AirMini 12V convertor. ResMed have not released a battery to power option for the ResMed AirMini, however the Medistrom Pilot 24 Lite Battery is the perfect solution should you require a battery.
Because of the waterless humidifier, the power required to use the device will be much less than the standard CPAP machines.
How big is the ResMed AirMini?
136mm * 84mm * 52mm
The machine itself weighs 300 grams.
Can AirMini be used as a frontline CPAP device?
Yes. Initially the hype around AirMini was for it to be used as a travel device, however, with its specs, we have several patients using the device as a frontline device.
Will my AirMini stay in one place during the night?
When you purchase an AirMini you will receive a AirMini mount system which will give you three alternatives for storing the device through the night. These include a slip for under your mattress, a clip for your bedside table and a plate which can be screwed to a wall in your truck cabin or caravan.
How will I store the AirMini travelling from place to place?
The AirMini has a travel bag and also a hard case. We recommend using both.
How do I know if my AirMini is working?
Data from your AirMini can be read on your phone using the AirMini app. The ResMed AirMini will also send data to our clinic via a Sim Card which will allow us to review the data on AirView. We will not be able to change settings remotely on your AirMini.
How much maintenance is involved with the AirMini?
The AirMini will need its air filter changed just like every other CPAP machine. The HumidX humidifier tabs, should you use them, need to be replaced every 30 days. This blog post includes a video on how to best maintain your AirMini.
Can I purchase AirMini on a payment plan?
Yes you can. You have access to Certegy EzyPay when you purchase through Sleep Right Australia. To find out more about payment plans, click here.
What have others said about the ResMed AirMini
We have been lucky enough to have gathered a lot of feedback about the ResMed AirMini. See here to see what people have said about it.
can you purchase a longer hose where the filter is further away from your face.
Unfortunately not. The hose plays an important role in ensuring the right pressure is applied to the airway, so needs to remain the same.
The main problem we have experienced with the Air Mini. Is the hose connection to the mask, it is simply to difficult for a person that has limited dexterity with her fingers whereas the hose on the normal machines and say an ultra mirage mask are simple and easy to disconnect and re connect when getting up during the night.
Surely there must be a way of using a similar fitting on the Air Mini hose?.
Hi Graham, thanks for your message. unfortunately at this stage there isn’t any alternatives for the connection point of AirMini as it is custom built specifically for the machine. I am sure ResMed are working towards making this easier but at this stage, we just need to work with what we have got.
Hello for some reason my air mini is not showing the data on the app? I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app but it hasn’t worked. Can you advise what to do! Thanks Craig
Hi Craig, hard to say without looking at it I am sorry. Deleting the app and reconnecting is my usual go to.
How do I print a hard copy of my sleep patterns for review by my sleep physician?
Hi george, the best way to do this is to head to where you purchased your AirMini and ask for a report from “AirView”. If they cannot do this for you, let me know. We can get your Serial number and manage the data for you and get this sorted. – Andrew
Hello
I love the machine How long can you use it without the filter ? I had to take the filter out (I tired blue and grey ) as I was getting water my nose
Debbie, you can use the machine without the humidifier tab permanently.
Can the air mini be plugged directly into a wall?
Hi Beverly, yes it can.
Hi, I have a new res med air mini. When take my mask off it keeps running at full blast but does not stop. My friend has same machine and when he disconnects his hose the machine runs full blast for a short time… say 15 seconds and then it turns off or down.
Can you explain…. is there some setting i need to set
Peter, in clinical menu there is a Smart Stop feature which may need to be switched on.
I am traveling to Europe and Morocco. I just purchased a ResMed Mini. I can not seem to find out if it is dual voltage compatible. Hope you can answer this.
Hi Jann, see this AirMini fact sheet https://sleepright.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/10110032-AirMini-Device-Fact-Sheet-ANZ-LoRes.pdf I believe it shall not be an issue.
Can my Physician tap into the airmini to monitor my sleep data?9
Yes, they can. It needs to be connected via clincical software AirView
I have bought the ResMEd Mini but found it is quite noisy. Is this machine supposed to be relatively quiet?
Hi Helen, The AirMini does have a different noise to the other machines because of the positioning of the humidifier system up near the mask connection. The machine itself does not make so much noise.
Can we get rid of the Humidifier? I don’t use it any how and the noise is awful
Hi Pete, you can try without the tabs. The connection port I am lead to believe has a role to play in pressure distribution
Hi Andrew, I bought AirMini for mom in India and haven’t been able to get a report to see how she is doing. I’m in USA and would you be able to get me an access to sleeping patterns? She is suffering from acute sleep apnea and lives in an area with no much literacy on this subject. I have her serial number and other details.
Eric, your best bet is for her to set up the AirMini Ap on her smartphone, get a report like this and then send it to you. We will not be able to tap into the machine from overseas.
Is it possible to connect my AirMini to the software on my MacBook called MyAir? Currently, MyAir collects the data from my AirSense 10 AutoSet CPAP machine, but not from my AirMini. I tried entering the AirMini Serial number and Device number into mMyAir, but these are not accepted by the software. So My Air shows my user data for every day that I use my AirSense 10, but shows nothing on the days I use the AirMini… Thank you very much for your consideration!
Francois, In your AirMini App is there an option in the settings allowing you to upload data into the cloud? I think that’s where the problem may be arising for you.
There doesn’t seem to be as much air released from any holes on the tubing like a regular CPAP. How does the air you breathe out escape?
Sher, good observing and great question. AirMini has less mask vent flow particularly at higher pressures when compared to normal mask vents. This means the motor and the machine could be smaller as it has to provide less flow (and why you have to use ResMed masks with the special connector) no air goes back to the machine, just less out the vent.
Yes there is, and I authorized the transmission of data to the Cloud from day 1. However, that data is not integrated with all the other data in MyAir.
Also, when I enter the AirMini SN and DN into the right fields in MyAir, i get the following reply: “L’appareil que vous avez saisi n’est pas compatible avec cette version de myAir.” Translated, it means that the machine is not compatible with the current version of MyAir.
Oh well: no big deal! The AirMini is truly a great machine for travelling.
Thank you so much for your help! You’re doing a fantastic job of supporting your clients and other users.
Very much appreciated!
Hmm the only other thing I can think of is updating the app to the latest version?
Appreciate your kind words Francois.
I too am unable to utilise the MyAir web site for the same reasons.
Hmm looks like ResMed may need to be contacted about this one direct. Try their customer service department https://www.sleepvantage.com.au/
the first time I downloaded the Air Mini app from Google it too returned the”not compatable” notice. I then went onto the Resmed site and downloaded from there and was up and running within a few minutes. Good luck
Reviewing the AirMini I just bought a few days ago: The quality of the product and ease of use are great. I was surprised at how well the humidifying HumidX capsule works.
The noise of the rig, a big concern to many, is related to the humidifying capsule, not the CPAP machine itself, and is not so bad although that capsule lies near to one’s face: i measured it at 42 dB close to my face (by comparison, my AirSense 10 Autoset scores only 36 dB). In an hour or so, I got used to that, thinking of it as white noise: waves on the shore?
🙂
I slept very well after that.
Also: ear plugs help a bit, the wax plugs being the best for that purpose, I’d say.
Great review Francois. Thankyou.
Sitting in my Hotel room at the Marriott Ottawa, the air conditioning fan is currently pumping out an average of 56.1 dB at the level of my pillow… 🙂 This ramps up to 60.2 dB when a truck drives by on the street 16 floors below…
…just to contextualize…
Thanks Francois
I have had an air mini for about twelve months and only use it when I travel. I would use it at home as well except that the noise that comes from the humidifier system in the hose is very disturbing. I don’t use a humidifier with my old S8 Elite and would like to have a hose without the humidifier in it for my air mini but am told they aren’t available. Are you going to introduce one?
Hi Trevor. I am not sure of ResMed’s intentions with the hose.
Hi could you please email me this picture too? Many thanks
HI Kerry, sorry which picture is this?
Is a photo available on how to pack the mini into its bag? I purchased the travel bag after getting my machine.
Hi Wendy, I have emailed you a pic!

Hi, I am using AirMini in South Korea. I got here while searching information about fixed pressure mode for AirMini. How do you activate fixed-pressure mode with AirMini?
Heejong, anyong haseyo. You will need to get into the clinical mode for this. Can you take it to where you bought it from?
I have just bought an airMini for travelling, and was recommended a nose pillow mask, not a full faced mask that I use with my Airsense 10. What I don’t know is what to do with my mouth. When I keep it closed and then open it air rushes out. I gave up after three hours of use with my mouth closed. My main question is does it affect the therapy if you keep your mouth open and is this in fact recommended. I am surprised the instruction book doesn’t mention this whole issue.
HI Michael, Tough to answer. In the ideal world, your mouth would be closed for the whole night. It is ok for it to open from time to time. It is when the mouth opening starts to annoy you that it becomes a concern. Is it affecting your AHI score? It is something that can improve with a bit of time and getting used to it. Was there any rational behind whoever sold it to you to use the P!0 over the full face mask? perhaps this was done because the Full Face mask currently doesn’t have a humidity option. You can use the full face mask with AirMini, but you will just need the specific connector. Apologies about the long winded reply, but I hope the info helps. Of note, we have a facebook support group with other CPAP users who may also be able to help here. https://www.facebook.com/groups/2217875275197228/
Thanks Andrew, and apologies. The mask I actually have is the N20 not nose pillows. Is it normal for air to dam up behind a closed mouth or do you think there I might have the wrong size mask allowing not enough space for all air to be expelled through the mask. And is it also equally true that wearing this mast with an open mouth makes the therapy less or not art all effective.
The sizing is linked in with mask leak issues as opposed to pressure build up so I don’t think that is the issue. Therapy will still be effective. Perhaps a little less effective, but hard to say without seeing the data. You’ll need to base this off how you feel and also the data. If you are finding it to be disruptive to your sleep and it is effecting you then it will need to be addressed.
I used to have a similar problem – my mouth would be open for much of the night and I would wake up with a sore throat and headache. I have purchased a chin strap from the local CPAP shop which encourages my mouth to stay shut. This has solved the problem.
Thanks for your contribution Warren

I have had the Air mini for a little while. I originally had it connected to my phone but I lost connection. I have tried on numerous occasions to reconnect but it doesn’t seem to be able to connect to any of my devices. I have turned everything on and off and have deleted the app and started again but nothing works. Can you help me fix this
Hi Sam, I see this from time to time too and like you I try everything to update it, it won’t work and then out of nowhere it will…. Have you got an iphone? Are you running the latest ios?
Hi Andrew I was wondering how I can upload the data from my airmini to my MacBook pro computer and what software I can use to analyse it. I used to use resmed software on my older S9 system Thanks Gary Willett
Gary, See this link about MyAir: https://sleepright.com.au/resmed/what-is-resmed-myair/
what does the flashing yellow light on the air mini mean? Mine has stopped doing auto start and auto stop too.
Joshua, I just checked with the rep. If the light is flashing, unplug, wait a few seconds and then plug it back in. If problem persists, it could be a device error and you’ll need to take it back to where you got it. Which mask are you using in regards to the Auto start/stop? If it is the P10, this happens a bit due to the small nostril ports confusing the computer in the machine with no real easy fix.
thanks for the reply. I tried unplugging it and plugging it back in again and things seemed to improve. I also cleaned the grate at the front of the machine where the air goes in – I did not realise this gets clogged until I looked closely at the device.
I use the nasal pillow mast, size medium, and the start stop still doesn’t work. The air mini is my only CPAP machine – with hindsight I would not recommend it to anyone for use as a full-time machine,
Cheers for the update and feedback.
can you use the air mini without the HumidX humidifiers?
Yes Deb
my machine has stopped automatically starting when I put mask on and breathe in.
Which mask are you using?
I did not receive the travel pack when I purchased my air mini, how much for travel bags
Hi Glennis, the bag is $90 https://sleepright.com.au/airmini-accessories/resmed-airmini-travel-bag/
– Andrew
Hi Andrew
I just need bag for hose, I have a machine case.
OK, when you got the machine did you get a drawstring bag with it?
No I didn’t
No I didn’t
I see. Did you get it from us?
No, I didn’t but thought I should have received one when I purchased one, I think I purchased through a chemist.
Can you interchange the N30 nasal cushion with the P10 pillows in the same headgear? This is strictly for the AirMini headgear. Thank you.
Hi Kay, unfortunately not. the frame that holds the cushion is different.
I use an N20 on my regular machine, but the connector for the Air Mini doesn’t have the exhale vent holes. When doing the ‘test drive’ I found exhaling difficult. What do you recommend.
Are you able to turn the EPR up to 3?
The instructions for opening the filter access looks easy, but mine does not slide down for some reason. Is there a trick?
Shelton, the first few goes it is pretty tight. It does loosen a little. Use a screw driver or something similar to pop it off.
If you are using the AirMini off the grid and are trying to conserve battery power should you leave the HumidX out? In other words does having the HumidX in place use more battery power?
HumidX will not affect power
My air mini woke me up because it was very cold. My whole face was cold. I had to take it off. Can the air be heated? What can I do about this problem?
Linda, make sure the mask is not leaking. If it is sealing, you can use the HumidX tabs. You could also try a tube wrap.
We don’t use heaters in our house just more blankets & the air going through the Mini is very cold – obviously can’t use a heated hose because of the humidifier tab – is there any solution? Eg: heated hose without the humidifier ? Thanks
I was under the impression that the mini could be used without electric and had a battery.
You can use the Medistrom battery, but it is an extra expanse.
thank you for the information

Hi need help. I love my AirMini and prefer it to my full sized unit. In recent days it’s stop blowing air and the power button just blinks on/off and machine wont blow air. How can I reset the unit? Can it be fixed? App indicates an error, but I dont know what it is. Thanks for your advice.
Justin, you’ll need to take it back to where you bought it. Or contact ResMed (SleepVantage) direct
Hi there,
I am curious as to whether or not you can reset data both from the Airmini machine and the Airmini app?
Thanks!
Hi Rachel, there may be a default factory setting section int he AirMini App.
Hi DrSleepRight. I am considering buying the ResMed AirMini only for travelling (which I do a lot of). I currently have the ResMed H5i which is a great machine. I use the FX head gear with this machine, and I don’t use the humidifier. I believe that there is an adaptor available for the AirMini to use with other headgear. Can I use my FX head gear with it if I don’t want to use the humidifier tablets? And would it be quieter?
Hi Peter, we only use ResMed products with the Mini so I am not sure how the adaptor works…
The app on my AirMini seems to be tracking less than half of my sleeping hours. I’m traveling in Asia, but normally live in Pacific Time. Do I have to adjust the time zone or is there something else I can/should do?
Hi Julia, yes it will be a time zone issue but I am not too sure on the fix.
