Breathing normally was once difficult for people suffering from obstructive sleep apnea. Until recently, Traditional CPAP machines were a highly recommended solution, however the disadvantage was that they were bulky and uncomfortable. If you’re looking for minimal disruptions to your sleep while treating your sleep apnoea, ResMed presents one of its finest CPAP masks—the AirFit P10 Nasal Pillow Mask.
Product Overview
ResMed AirFit P10 is a lightweight but highly efficient nasal pillow mask, that ensures appropriate airflow form your CPAP machine. The air diffuser, is situated in front of the mask, removes the CO2 without the direct jet of air disrupting you or your partner through the night.
The pillows are made from plastic and fit snugly in the nostrils ensuring more support and consistent airflow throughout sleeping hours. To ensure proper placement, the mask is clearly labeled with the left and right nostrils. The mask comes with three size pillows: Small, medium and large.
The AirFit P10 strap is an improvement from earlier models. The split back straps makes it easy to wear and take off with ease. The strap of the AirFit P10 is made from a flexible fabric that supports tight seal of the nasal pillow replacement once worn. The trade off with having such a soft, stretchy strap is that it will stretch over time. It is recommended that the strap should be replaced every 6-12 months. In saying that, since the release of the ResMed headgear clips, people have been getting longer use out of the strap.
AirFit P10 vs Swift FX—Which One is Better?
We believe the ResMed AirFit P10 is a superior mask and the vast majority of our patients who have upgraded to the AirFit P10 have found that the mask is more effective and more comfortable.
The one thing the Swift FX has over the P10 is the strap would not need to replaced as often. We still believe that the quietness, softness and comfort of the AirFit P10 makes it far superior mask.
